November 2011. Journal Chemosphere ( Elsevier Sciences) accepts our new paper "Leaf litter leachates have the potential to increase lifespan, body size, and offspring numbers in a clone of Moina macrocopa".

September 2011. At international conference "New frontiers for monitoring European biodiversity: the role and importance of amphipod crustaceans" (Palermo, Italy) Maxim Timofeyev presented oral presentation "Evolution of stress resistance mechanisms in Lake Baikal endemic amphipods along the gradient of environmental change" and Vasiliy Pavlichenko presented oral presentation "Increased environmental temperature and cadmium chloride salts induce p-glycoprotein gene expression in common freshwater amphipod  Gammarus lacustris Sars".

September 2011. Dr. Zhanna Shatilina was awarded first prize in “2011 BRHE Young Scientists article competition” by Civilian and Research Development Foundation (USA) for her publication in Journal of Thermal biology. 

August 2011.  “Journal of Biophotonics” (Wiley-VCH Verlag) accepts our paper "Optical diagnostic test of stress conditions of aquatic organisms" as a cover page.

July 2011. At "4th International Symposium on the Environmental Physiology of Ectothersm & Plants" (ISEPEP4), Rennes (France).  Maxim Timofeyev presented oral presentation "Evolution of thermal resistance mechanisms in Lake Baikal endemic amphipods along the gradient of environmental change", Vasiliy Pavlichenko presented poster presentation "Increased environmental temperature induces p-glycoprotein gene expression in common freshwater amphipod  Gammarus lacustris Sars".

May 2011.  “Journal of Stress Physiology & Biochemistry” (SB RAS) accepted our paper " Small HSPs molecular weights as new indication to the hypothesis of segregated status of thermophilic relict Gmelinoides fasciatus among Baikal and Palearctic amphipods".

April 2011. Our PhD student Marina Protopopova has successfully defended her doctoral thesis at Siberian Federal University (Karsnoyarsk). Dissertation entitled: “Mechanisms of nonspecific  resistance at baikal and palearctic amphipods under cadmium chloride exposure” . Scientific adviser Dr. Maxim Timofeyev


March 2011.       Russian Foundation for Basic (fundamental) Research has granted our research project “Comparative proteomic analysis of protein profiles in close-related baikal endemic amphipods under thermal stress” (Dr. D. Bedulina). 

March 2011.        Russian Foundation for Basic (fundamental) research has granted our Lake Baikal expedition and field research  project  (Dr. M.Timofeyev).
